HAMPTON, Ga. — The Atlanta Motor Speedway has a new name: EchoPark Speedway.

The new name announcement came Tuesday, ahead of the Quaker State 400 later this month, where it will debut as the opening race to a new in-season Cup Series tournament. According to a news release, this is the start of a seven-year, multi-million-dollar agreement.

At an event celebrating the change and recent updates to the speedway, Gov. Brian Kemp took the opportunity to highlight all the major sporting events that call Georgia home. From the Southeastern Conference football championship, to the NCAA Final Four, to the FIFA World Cup next year, the governor said races at the speedway have left their own unique mark.
