K9 Dwight helped to recover a loaded handgun Saturday in Hyde Park, where a 16-year-old boy was also arrested on gun charges, the department said.

The boy was one of four who fled when police spotted them at about 5:45 p.m. on Glenwood Avenue while investigating a report of a robbery in Wolcott Square, police said in a statement Monday.

Three of the teens, including the boy, ran into a backyard on Winter Street. Two of them jumped a fence, but the 16-year-old did not, the statement said.

The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was cornered in a backyard, where a loaded handgun fell from his sweatshirt pocket, police said in a statement Monday.
