The long-planned extension of Borden Mowery Drive is one step closer to reality after Strasburg Town Council unanimously agreed Monday to authorize the town manager to sign an updated funding agreement with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
But the agreement comes with one sizable caveat — the town will have to find $732,310 to match state revenue-sharing funds.
The $4.6 million project will connect Borden Mowery Drive to Radio Station Road, install new stormwater infrastructure and extend water lines to support future commercial development along the town’s eastern edge.
