INDIANAPOLIS — As the Indiana Pacers prepare to face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals , the mayor of Oklahoma City credits a different competition with Indianapolis for the success.
"It all started, as a lot of people here know, with the defeat over the United Airlines maintenance facility to Indianapolis," Mayor David Holt told 13News.
The maintenance facility in question once employed 3,000 people, but United abandoned it about a decade after it was built. The Indianapolis Airport Authority took it over, and now runs it as the Indianapolis Maintenance Center.
