A Maryland man saw his planned home sale fall through after alleged squatters took over his property the night before.

As incidents of squatting continue to gain national news attention, a homeowner in Windsor Mill, Maryland, found himself the victim of the trend when a family of four broke in and moved in overnight.

Mike Haskell told Spotlight on Maryland that he spent several tens of thousands of dollars renovating the home before a group moved in without permission the night before the property's sale was set to be finalized.
