WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul won’t support President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” as is, and he’s not alone.

“I want to see the tax cuts made permanent, but I also want to see the $5 trillion in new debt removed from the bill,” Paul wrote on social media Tuesday. “At least four of us in the Senate feel this way.”

He said Kentuckians sent him to D.C. to “fight reckless debt,” adding he wouldn’t support an increase to the debt ceiling.

Trump wants his bill, full of tax breaks and spending cuts , ready to be signed on his desk by the Fourth of July. The president on Tuesday ridiculed Senate Republicans who wouldn’t support the bill, including Paul.
