BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the head early Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday at 1:28 a.m., Blackman-Leoni police were sent to the 100 block of Peacock Walk in Blackman Township for reports of a shooting.

There, police found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head. He was unresponsive but breathing. He was taken to Henry Ford Hospital where he is in critical condition.

Police are investigating the shooting as “suspicious.”

Officials say details on the shooting are “unclear,” but that multiple people were present.

“It will take time to thoroughly review the evidence and statements to determine what occurred,” police said.

Since the victim is a minor, police will not release his name.
