NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — As the measles continue to spread among unvaccinated individuals in parts of the state, more people have become affected by the virus, either because they contracted it or have been to an exposure site.
The state of North Dakota now has 34 reported cases of the disease, all of whom are unvaccinated.
The North Dakota Public Health Association (NDPHA) reported that as of the end of May, the Peace Garden State has the highest rate of infection per 100,000 among all states, even beating out Texas, where hundreds of people contracted the virus.
The NDPHA posted on their social media what they believe is the reason for the spike in cases in the state.
