BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — With 34 confirmed cases, North Dakota has the highest rate of measles in the U.S.

According to data from the North Dakota Public Health Association, the state’s rate of infection is 4.27 cases per 100,000 people.

New Mexico and Texas follow.

North Dakota’s first cases were reported in early April in Williams County.

There are also cases in Grand Forks, Cass and Burke Counties.
