Ashley National Forest has announced closures on Spirit Lake Road starting this week. According to the announcement, Spirit Lake Road (FSR 001) will be closed intermittently each week beginning June 2nd for periods of up to an hour at a time. “A temporary area closure will also be in effect for dispersed camping along the road,” shares the announcement. “The closure is to provide for public safety during tree falling operations and log truck loading. The road will not be closed on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holiday weekends, or opening days of the general deer and elk hunts.” A map of the closure area can be viewed on the Ashley National Forest Facebook page along with a link to the closure order. The project will continue through September 30th, weather permitting.
