The Kern High School District (KHSD) has announced that it will provide free breakfast and lunch to all children aged 2 to 18 this summer. The program will run from June 2, 2025, to June 27, 2025.

Funded through the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, the initiative aims to ensure that every child has access to nutritious meals during the summer months.

KHSD said students do not need to be enrolled to participate in the free meal program. However, all meals must be eaten on campus.
