OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas softball and Texas Tech will make history this week in the championship of the Women's College World Series.

Neither team has ever won a national championship, and they've taken different paths to the 2025 title series. Texas has been building toward a title run ever since Mike White took over as the head coach and will play in its third championship series in four years. Texas Tech, under first-year coach Gerry Glasco, had never before reached the super-regional round before this season and leans heavily on nine new transfers led by star pitcher NiJaree Canady .
