MANCHESTER, Conn. — It's a moment eight years in the making: gamers are ready to switch to the Nintendo Switch 2.

“Everyone's excited for it. People were camping out from 4 a.m.,” said Manchester GameStop store manager Arthur Theurer.

Ahead of the Thursday release, gamers in Manchester lined up outside of their local GameStop Wednesday to get their pre-sale receipt, not wanting to miss out on being among the first to play the highly-anticipated console.

Charles Lewis, a customer, said that "everyone starts playing it around the same day, and so you get kind of a FOMO situation [Fear Of Missing Out], because, you know, everyone's online talking about it."
