QUINCY (WGEM) - June is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that more than 7 million Americans are living with the disease. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million.
While no one can truly prepare for the effects Alzheimer’s will have on their family, there are some things you can do to take care of your brain.
Mike Drew, a volunteer leader with the Alzheimer’s Association, said a key to that is getting mental exercise.
“Brain health is very important. Exercising your brain, just like you exercise your body, is very important to keep doing that.
