ATLANTA — City and county leaders are coming together to help Atlantans leave their past behind.
On Thursday morning, Atlanta City Councilmember Andrea Boone stood with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, Superior Court Clerk Ché Alexander, and Judge Thomas A. Cox Jr. to announce a new initiative that will help eligible residents expunge or restrict their criminal records.
The initiative is part of a larger effort to reduce systemic barriers that can keep people from jobs, housing, and education—even if their charges were dismissed or happened long ago.
“We believe everyone deserves a second chance,” Boone said. “This is about lifting people up and giving them the tools they need to thrive.”
The announcement comes ahead of a community Record Restriction and Resource Fair this
