Three-year-old girl drowns in North Texas lake

AZLE, Texas — A 3-year-old girl died Wednesday after drowning in a North Texas lake, officials said.

According to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call about a drowning at the West Bay Marina on Eagle Mountain Lake. Officials said that by the time deputies arrived, the girl had been pulled out of the water, and two good Samaritans performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived.

TCSO said the girl was taken to a hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead.

Tarrant County investigators are working to determine how the child ended up in the water.
