VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A "major meth shipment" was intercepted after police were called out to suspicious package in Visalia. According to officers, the package was sent from a neighboring city.

Last May, officers were called to the UPS processing center in Visalia after receiving a call regarding a "suspicious package." Inside, they say they found 20 pounds of methamphetamine.

Detectives identified the sender as 26-year-old Ricardo Lazarin-Valencia of Porterville. On June 4, they served a search warrant at his home and multiple storage units tied to the investigation.

According to officers, Lazarin-Valencia was arrested and booked for charges related to the distribution of narcotics.
