LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Liberty Township has announced plans for a new playground, Fort Liberty Playland 2.0, following a community-driven effort to preserve and renovate the existing play area.

The township has enlisted a nationally recognized design firm to oversee the renovation, which is set to begin in August.

Last summer, residents rallied against a proposal to demolish the playground due to safety concerns over the aging wooden structures. In response, township officials decided to involve the public in the design process for the new playground.

The township aims to unveil the revamped play area later this year, providing a safe and engaging space for children in the community.
