SCRANTON, Pa. — Preparing for a newborn requires a lot of work. It turns out that's true for kittens as well.

In preparation for a busy summer season, rescue workers at Street Cats and Dogs of Nay Aug Zoo in Scranton are getting ready for their annual kitten shower.

You’re invited (just don't tell the dogs).

“Really, it is what gets us through the season,” said Katrina Organ, of Street Cats and Dogs of Nay Aug Zoo. “When we say, ‘yes we have cages available’…yes we're able to take those five kittens found in your yard, it is because of our kitten shower and the support that we get

Street Cats and Dogs said they often adopt out more than 100 kittens per season. Cute whiskers come with costs and rescues need help coming up with scratch.
