A pickup that crashed into a tree at 60th Street and Platte Avenue Jake Homan, Channel 8

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A pickup truck crashed into a tree Thursday night in northeast Lincoln.

The crash was reported about 7:45 p.m. at 60th Street and Platte Avenue in the Havelock neighborhood.

A witness told Channel 8 that the vehicle left a nearby gas station and sped down the street before leaving the road and slamming into the tree.

Multiple witnesses said after the crash, the man driving the vehicle was shocked with a Taser.

A woman had to be cut out of the vehicle, according to a witness.

Both the man and the woman were taken away by ambulances, witnesses said.
