“I see the looks on my patient’s faces when they fear losing their health care.” That was Dr. Ron Stollings, a former state senator from Boone County, as quoted in a recent Gazette-Mail article by Mike Tony. His patients are worried about coming cuts to Medicaid (and SNAP food assistance) that are hurtling at them like a locomotive with no brakes, thanks to President Donald Trump’s budget bill.

And, instead of shouting warnings to the innocent people who are about to be run over, West Virginia’s four members of Congress are pretending that no crash is coming. Republican Sens. Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice and Reps. Carole Miller and Riley Moore are supporting the disfigurement known as Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”
