Forecasters have issued a weather warning for the UK ahead of an expected washout. An alert for thunderstorms taking in a chunk of the country will kick in tomorrow as meteorologists have warned that 'frequent lightning, hail and strong, gusty winds' are also possible.
As it stands North Staffordshire is not included in the yellow warning, that will run from 9am until 6pm on Saturday. It currently runs from the south coast up to the outskirts of Lichfield.
However the Potteries, Newcastle and the Moorlands won't be spared a soaking. The Met Office is predicting light rain for much of the morning that will then turn heavy. Heavy showers in the afternoon will also be accompanied by some sunny spells.
