ST PAUL, Minn. — After weeks of hammering at contentious issues, including a new state budget, legislative leaders have come up with a framework that convinced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to call a special session for Monday.

A document signed by Walz, House Speaker Lisa Demuth and Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, and Senate Majority and Minority Leaders Erin Murphy and Mark Johnson, respectively, lays out just over a dozen bills that lawmakers will finalize and vote on.

Among them are bills dealing with medical care for undocumented residents, consumer protection and transportation financing. Most will be tied to the Minnesota state budget for the next biennium.

The session is set to begin at the Capitol on Monday at 10 a.m., and lawmakers have to wrap up all their business by 7 a.m. o
