A flood watch was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 1:32 p.m. valid between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. for Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks counties.

The weather service states, "Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible."

"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations," comments the weather service. "You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued."
