The Los Angeles band saw a significant amount of critical success during the decade with the rise of the hair metal genre. The band is certified multi-platinum, with hits like "Lay It Down," and "Round and Round."

Ratt has been performing off and on for the past while, through various hiatuses and reunions. Recently, the band had yet another reunion performance, which has stirred up some controversy. To be more specific, lead singer Stephen Pearcy has come under a lot of fire from fans for his singing at said performance.
