According to NBA insider Marc Stein , former Celtics coach Ime Udoka is drawing interest from the Knicks as New York attempts to fill its head coaching vacancy.

“Two head coaches who are not currently available but said to interest the Knicks, according to league sources, are Dallas’ Jason Kidd and Houston’s Ime Udoka,” wrote Stein.

Both coaches are under contract with their current teams. Udoka signed a four-year deal with Houston in 2023. The Rockets went 41-41 and missed the playoffs last season. This year, Houston won 52 games and jumped to the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

The Knicks are expected to formally request an interview with Kidd, according to the report. The Rockets would likely reject such a request for Udoka, Stein said.
