CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Meat snacks sold under multiple brands were recalled after authorities learned the product had been mislabeled and did not disclose all of its ingredients.
According to a release from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), over 15,000 pounds of beef jerky and meat snacks produced by Springville Meat & Cold Storage Co. Inc. were recalled after FSIS inspectors discovered that the products did not declare anchovies as an ingredient despite using Worcestershire sauce that contained anchovies. The organization said the confusion was caused by a change from a Worcestershire sauce that did not contain anchovies to one that did.
The recall involved a variety of products sold by multiple brands in distributors and retailers across the country between May 30, 2023
