RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office is releasing a report on a shooting involving a Nevada State Police Highway Patrol trooper. In that report, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Trooper Marcus McIntosh was justified in shooting at Darnelle Boykins.

It happened in June of 2023. Highway Patrol troopers were called about a reckless driver on the highway. McIntosh reportedly made contact with Boykins at a gas station. He says Boykin smelled like alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. Boykins sped away, nearly hitting McIntosh, and led him and Trooper Robert Dosh on a car chase.

According to the report, McIntosh and Dosh found the suspect car around Moana and Kietzke. When they tried to pull Boykins over, he suddenly stopped, leaned out of the window, and
