NEW ORLEANS — Communities Academies of New Orleans (CANO) has agreed to consolidate its Esperanza Academy campuses next year as part of the school district's broader effort to downsize its facilities amid declining enrollment,
CANO will move Esperanza Academy out of the aging Crossman Elementary School building on S. Carrollton Avenue, which requires costly repairs. Instead, Esperanza will merge with CANO's Foundation Preparatory Academy to form one school operating on two campuses:
Esperanza Foundational (Pre-K to 4th grade) at 3121 St. Bernard Avenue
Esperanza Middle (5th to 8th grade) at 3201 Live Oak
