ATLANTA — Tens of thousand of people are without power across north Georgia on Sunday morning, following severe storms on Saturday and a second round of some storms Sunday morning that impacted counties in the west and south of the metro region.

As of 3 p.m. on Sunday, more than 15,000 customers statewide, most of them concentrated in north Georgia, were impacted by outages according to Georgia Power's website . Georgia EMC's outage page meanwhile listed more than 17,000 outages statewide.

"We’re all hands on deck this weekend working to restore power and repair damage following heavy rain and high winds," Georgia Power said in a post on X . "Our crews worked overnight, and will continue to work throughout the day where conditions are safe - rain, high winds and lightning remain
