As the Northeast enjoys a long stretch without a direct hurricane landfall, experts are sounding the alarm: the region is “climatologically overdue” for a major storm. According to AccuWeather, it’s been over a decade since a hurricane hit the Northeast directly, and more than 70 years since a major hurricane struck the region.
