Police have provided details about the person who they say opened fire inside a CVS store at Emory University’s Atlanta campus on Friday.

The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that the gunman who opened fire inside a CVS store is dead.

In a press conference at 7:45 p.m. ET, officials said the shooter was a white male.

Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said the suspect was located on the second floor of the CVS building and had fired multiple rounds.

He was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the injuries were self-inflicted or
