PIERCE, Neb. (KTIV) - A majority of voters in Pierce and Wayne counties, in Nebraska, have rejected a nearly $26-million bond to modernize buildings in the Pierce Public Schools.

Unofficial results posted on the Pierce County, Nebraska Courthouse Facebook page show 707 people voted for the bond, and 1,114 voted against it.

Had it passed, the money would have paid to build additions and renovations and fund other site improvements to the existing elementary and high school buildings.
