PHOENIX - It has been a dry and mostly partly sunny day across the Valley, but widespread showers and thunderstorms are moving northward across the High Country, and some storms are causing flooding in southern Arizona.
Today:
Rain arrived in the Valley on Thursday evening.
"A few storms have now developed over portions of the Phoenix metro. Expect some gusty winds and brief heavy downpours …," the National Weather Service said at 8:23 p.m.
Cloud to ground lightning, heavy rain, minor flooding, gusty winds and blowing dust are all possible with storms.
Looking Further Ahead:
Overnight lows will fall into the mid-80s by Friday morning, and the rain will clear the Valley, moving through eastern AZ and the Four Corners before drying out midday.
