A shooting outside The Harold Hotel in Forest Lodge, Sydney, resulted in one man dead and another seriously injured. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men had been shot multiple times by assailants who fled the scene in a vehicle.

Emergency services treated the victims at the scene. One man succumbed to his injuries, while the other was transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in serious condition. Witnesses reported hearing between six and twelve gunshots.

Imogen, a nearby resident, described hearing several loud bangs, initially mistaking them for fireworks. "I saw some people running across the road, so away from where the sound was coming from," she said. "It hasn't quite hit me yet. My family had just arrived to mine maybe 10 minutes earlier, so to think they were walking at the same time is a bit scary."

Another witness, Ivan, recounted hearing eight to ten shots followed by a pause and then more gunfire. His companion, Charlotte, noted that the man taken to the hospital was conscious during treatment. "He'd been shot multiple times, maybe six times," she said, detailing injuries to his neck, chest, abdomen, arms, and legs.

Authorities have cordoned off part of Ross Street as they investigate the incident. A crime scene has been established, and police are actively searching for the suspects involved in the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to local authorities.
