A man suspected of shooting into an occupied Huntsville apartment was arrested Sunday after a standoff with police.

According to the Huntsville Police Department, officers responded about 1:30 p.m. Sunday to the 4400 block of Patton Road following reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, officers discovered evidence an apartment had been struck by gunfire and determined the shots came from a neighboring apartment across the breezeway.

Police say none of the three occupants inside the targeted apartment were injured.

The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Edward Deon White, and officers attempted to make contact with him. However, police say White refused to communicate.

Police say evidence indicated White was armed and dangerous, so additional resources were requested.
