CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- High Point Fire District responded to a reported structure fire with possible entrapment on Highway 207 near Dudley Road Sunday.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a small home fully engulfed in flames. The intense fire was causing oxygen tanks within the residence to explode, sending debris across the highway.
In addition, an SUV parked in front of the home was also burning.
According to the report, the engineer reported that the radiant heat was so severe that it was painful even on the highway.
As firefighters prepared to enter the home, the roof collapsed. A large winch from High Point’s ARFF truck was deployed to remove sections of the collapsed roof, allowing crews to continue extinguishing the fire and begin search efforts for potenti
