GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A former Guilford County Schools substitute teacher has been arrested after allegedly committing child sex crimes involving a student.

On Tuesday, Shaela Lenise Thompson, 28, of Greensboro, was arrested and charged with statutory rape of a child under 15, statutory sex offense with a child under 15 and three counts of indecent liberties with a student. Thompson received no bond.

According to Greensboro police, Thompson knew the victim through her previous job as a substitute teacher with GCS.

Police noted that the crimes did not happen on school property.
