BUNKIE, La. (KALB) - After making their first State Semifinal appearance since 1988, the Bunkie Football program is looking to prove that’s the new standard.

“We’ve been talking about proving it all offseason,” Bunkie head coach Jimmie Hillman said. “We’re trying to prove what kind of program we are.”

During Hillman’s first two seasons, Bunkie has emerged as one of the area’s top programs, holding a 21-3 record in that span.

“That was pretty nice last year, but we know it’s a whole new year and we’re ready for the competition to prove everybody wrong,” Bunkie senior linebacker Luke Normand said.

Although the team graduates the dynamic duo of Dillon Compton and Kyle Johnson, the core of the Panthers’ near-unbreakable defense remains intact for 2025.
