GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- Red light cameras are coming back to Greensboro for the first time in nearly 20 years.
After city leaders proposed bringing back red light cameras, Greensboro driver Paul Jones said it could be a safety hazard.
"And maybe someone is about to hit you, and you have to take your chances and go through the yellow light," Jones said.
Greensboro Attorney Marshall Hurley agrees.
"Drivers don't know how to respond to these traffic cameras. Sometimes, they speed up to avoid a ticket and avoid a hazard. Sometimes, they slam on brakes right at the intersection, and we get rear-end collisions," Hurley said.
