NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Shelby Community Center will soon get some new volleyball equipment, thanks to an in-kind grant from the Friends of Shelby Parks.

According to Rebecca Ratz, Friends Executive Director, the group recently coordinated with Metro Parks and Recreation to donate a brand new permanent volleyball system inside the Shelby Community Center.

The grant, totaling more than $4,000, covers recreation equipment that will be donated to the center, according to a resolution from the Metro Council.

The in-kind grant will fund "new equipment for the Shelby Community Center including volleyball nets, roller skates, basketballs, and shelving," per the resolution.

The grant donation was approved at the most recent Metro Council meeting.
