SAINT PAUL, Minn. — For the first time since the targeted lawmaker shootings in June, the Advisory Committee on Capitol Security met Wednesday morning to discuss more potential changes at the capitol complex.

The meeting, which lasted for more than an hour in the Minnesota Senate Building, was led by Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan and included lawmakers from both political parties and multiple government branches. The murder of Melissa and Mark Hortman and the shooting of John and Yvette Hoffman weighed heavily on the committee members, who pledged to work together to find common solutions.
