KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center board of directors met Wednesday to give updates and reviews of the current state of the center.
This was the second meeting the board of directors has held since its appointment in June. The board heard from the Tennessee Department of Children's Services, the Juvenile Court Mental Health director, and a representative from Knox County Schools. They all gave an update about how they operate with the center.
“I think it was crucial to not only hear how is the progress going on, the transition from an operational perspective, but how all of our partners are excited to come back together and come into the facility and start really doing the great work that they know how to do to help support the juveniles,” said Larsen
