CHEYENNE – Two residents of The Pointe are continuing their push for a crosswalk to be put in on Gardenia Drive in Cheyenne after seeing and voicing safety concerns for many years.

Carol Davinroy and Sheryl Steele said they’ve been asking city officials for the crosswalk for almost three years now.

“It’s like a freeway going through a residential area, which is ridiculous,” Steele said. “It’s very hard to cross the street without getting honked at by people. … There’s no safety involved here.”

Davinroy and Steele aren't the first Pointe residents to bring the issue up. Nearly 20 years ago, the Wyoming Tribune Eagle published an article in which Joe Stanfill, and John and Trish Peacock, who were all Pointe residents at the time, also brought safety concerns to city officials.
