CHEYENNE – After Megan Degenfelder was informed she couldn't enlist in the Wyoming Air National Guard due to a prior cancer diagnosis, she promised the general she would make it her mission in life to bring men and women who would be good in uniform to the Guard, and spread information about the mission and sacrifice of the military.

In her role as Wyoming’s elected state superintendent of public instruction, she is doing just that by offering new resources to junior high and high school teachers in all Wyoming public schools.

The optional curriculum was announced during a news conference Wednesday at the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois. Since the state sets standards and doesn't dictate specific curriculum to local K-12 districts, this will simply be a new tool available
