NORFOLK, NEB. (KTIV) - Overnight road work is planned for the first day of September.

The expected nighttime work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 1, weather permitting.

Work is planned to begin on U.S. 81 or 13th Street in Norfolk, starting at Pasewalk Ave. and ending at South Airport Road. The work is expected to begin at 6 p.m. and end at 6 a.m.

Drivers are reminded to drive with caution while in or near work zones as well as to buckle up and put down cell phones.

According to the Nebraska Department of Transportation, the construction work includes milling the existing asphalt pavement and placing a new asphalt pavement.

Traffic will be handled with lane restrictions and temporary traffic control devices.
