Wawa fanatics lined up early Wednesday morning to celebrate the grand opening of the convenience store’s newest location in Greater Williamsburg.
Scores of people turned out, including Wayne B. Cutts, the first customer in line, who was up before 5 a.m. to claim his spot outside the Monticello Avenue store.
“This is my sixth Wawa opening,” he said. “It’s always so much fun.”
Jamestown High School student Will Zieger was also among the first in line, arriving a little after 6 a.m. before the doors officially opened at 8 a.m. “There is so much hard stuff going on in the world right now, and seeing everyone come together for the opening of this Wawa is great,” Zieger said. “It’s about bringing people together. We need more of that.”
