A postal worker has been charged with allegedly stealing bank cards from the mail that were later used to commit $1.4 million in fraud.
The 56-year-old man allegedly stole the cards from the mail in the Sydney suburbs of Edgecliff, Woollahra and Double Bay.
NSW police allege the worker then on-supplied the stolen cards to two separate organised crime syndicates, which then used them to commit fraud.
Police said Australia Post has assisted investigations since the Crime Command's Financial Crimes Squad established a strike force in November 2024.
Two other men were also charged after Strike Force Rubi detectives carried out early morning raids on August 20, with five search warrants across the suburbs of Rockdale and Roselands.
