PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Churchland Little League said it was the target of theft earlier this week.

The Little League said more than $1,500 worth of donated equipment was stolen from the inside of a locked storage container located at Churchland Park.

Little League President Zach Fly said speakers, a projector, a projector screen, microphones and sound mixer boards were all taken.

"We work so hard here to keep it up and to try and make sure that these kids have a safe, happy place to go," Fly said. "So we're just heartbroken."

Fly explained that the little league uses this equipment at concession stands, games and the movie nights they host to raise money.
