WILLISTON — Surrounded by colleagues at a weeklong training in Dickinson, Officer Garrett Norsten never expected his name to be called. Moments later, he was named Peace Officer of the Year, the highest honor for law enforcement in North Dakota.

"They started reading about my career and some of my achievements, and that's when it clicked that it was me," the Williston Police Department officer said. "It was surreal and humbling to be recognized in that moment." kAm%92E >@>6?E :?4=F565 36:?8 2H2C565 E96 !6246 ~77:46C @7 E96 *62C 2H2C5[ E96 9:896DE 9@?@C 2H2C565 3J E96 }@CE9 s2<@E2 !6246 ~77:46CD pDD@4:2E:@?]k^Am kAm%9:D 2H2C5[ E96 2DD@4:2E:@?VD H63D:E6 DE2E6D[ :D AC6D6?E65 E@ 2 }@CE9 s2<@E2 A6246 @77:46C Q32D65 FA@?
